Seaweed often reported
Hurricane season runs June to November. Sargassum seaweed changes a lot from year to year and beach to beach, so check recent reports before you go. Many resorts offer free rebooking for storms; ask before you pay.
Guides for first-timers
What's included, when to go and the costs nobody mentions. See all 10 guides
Food, drinks and the room are covered. Flights, airport transfers, tips, spa treatments, excursions, premium drinks and club-level areas usually cost extra. Use the calculator to add them up.
What's the cheapest time to go?
Prices drop after Easter and stay lower through the fall. Those months overlap with hurricane season, so buy travel insurance and choose a flexible rate.
Do I need to tip at an all-inclusive?
Tips are often included, but most guests still tip housekeeping, bartenders and servers a few dollars a day. Our calculator assumes $10 per room per day.
Adults-only or family resort?
Adults-only resorts are quieter at the pool and in restaurants. Family resorts have kids' clubs and waterparks and tend to be livelier. Use the filters to see each type.
Do you get paid when I book?
Sometimes. If you book through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes which resorts we list or what we say about them.
